Directions

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon oil (your choice)
  • 1 lb ground beef (Faithway Cattle recommended)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • 1 (14 oz) pouch beef bone broth (Faithway Cattle recommended)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 2 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Base: Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened and fragrant.
  2. Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the pot. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.
  3. Add Veggies & Broth: Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook for 3 minutes. Then add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth, mixing everything together.
  4. Season: Add the cooked rice, dried thyme, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  5. Simmer: Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover. Let it simmer for 25-30 minutes, until the rice is tender and the veggies are cooked through.
